Top 10 Books On My Spring 2017 TBR | WILL I EVER GET OUT OF TBR SHAME?

There are so many books that I’ve been meaning to read and haven’t read.  I am perpetually drowning in books that I need to read.  I don’t know if I’ll ever even read everything I want to before I die because, really, THERE ARE SO MANY FRACKEN BOOKS I WANT TO READ THEM ALL.

Well, shame on you Michael Scott GIF

I know, SO SHOCKING.  There are always going to books I’ve been meaning to read for eons but haven’t gotten around to.  So, this list is just a SMALL chunk of all the things I want to read, complimentary of Top Ten Tuesday from The Broke and The Bookish , but particularly ones I want to read this Spring!

The Hate U Give Cover

1 ) The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I’m actually reading this right now!  YAY.  I’ve been so excited for this since the very first time I heard of it.  It’s so topical, and I think everyone should read this novel.  It’s so important to the current state of things, especially in the US, but everywhere.  Just read it. Goodreads

A Court of Mist and Fury Cover

2 ) A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Okay so, I finally got around to reading A Court of Thorns and Roses in January.  I need to read this because the 3rd one is being released soon!  I MUST BE PREPARED AND READY TO DEVOUR IT AS SOON AS I CAN.  Hopefully the hype surrounding this doesn’t get to me, because I’m excited to get back into this world! Goodreads

A darker shade of magic cover

3 ) A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

I HAVE MAJOR SHAME ABOUT THIS.  One upside is that now the whole series is out, so I can binge read it if I please >:) Goodreads

Salt to the Sea Cover

4 ) Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys

I started this at a time when I was in a MAJOR reading slump last year.  Like, worst slump I’ve ever had, major.  I was really enjoying what I had read so far, and I’m in the mood for a historical book right now!  WARNING: WILL PROVOKE MAJOR FEELS (I know this even though I’ve only read like 100 pages of it.  IT’S THAT FEEL PROVOKING) Goodreads

Furthermore Cover

5 ) Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi

Yay!  A middle grade!! I love middle grade, but it’s been way too long since I’ve read one.  The whimsy in this one is what got it a top spot on my TBR this spring.  And seriously, LOOK AT THAT FRACKEN COVER. Holy cucumbers is that cover beautiful.  Goodreads

Six of Crows Cover

6 ) Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

This is another one I’m ashamed I haven’t read.  SHAME.  Must read ASAP before I implode over GUILT BECAUSE THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD. ugh Goodreads

Strange the Dreamer Cover

7 ) Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor

This hasn’t come out yet, so I don’t have to be shameful just yet!  I’ve heard so many good things about this book from those who have been given review copies!  I’m excited.  YAY Goodreads

The Unseen World Cover

8 ) The Unseen World by Liz Moore

This synopsis had me questioning why I would want to read anything else right now, aside from my shame of course! Goodreads

Everything, Everything Cover

9 ) Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

There’s a movie trailer for this one now.  I haven’t read any Nicola Yoon ever.  Nothing like a movie trailer, and therefore impending movie, to get me to read something I’ve been wanting to!  Also, the controversy surrounding this one of course has intrigued me.  I must find out for myself this Spring! Goodreads

Under Rose-Tainted Skies Cover

10 ) Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall

I love books that represent mental illness accurately.  If any book mentions mental illness, it almost automatically will catch my interest.  The fact that this one is supposed to have fantastic representation made me NEED TO READ IT NOW.  YESTERDAY. ASAP Goodreads

What are the books that are the highest on your TBR this spring?  Are you full of so much shame like me?? or are you all good readers who don’t have TBRs the size of an olympic swimming pool? Tell me in the comments!  I would love to know

  1. WHAT AN EXCELLENT LIST. The Hate U Give is freaking amaaaaaazing (I’m reviewing it soon I think??? Can’t remember when I scheduled it lol). So are Furthermore and ACOMAF and ADSOM. I also can’t wait to read Strange the Dreamer 😀

For real though, THUG is REALLY good and I cannot wait to read your review on it! I’ve got to get around to finishing it so I can shout about it in a review as well. I’m so excited for all these books it’s PAINFUL that I can’t get to them faster!

    1. AHHH THERE ARE SO MANY BOOKS THAT I NEED TO READ AND THESE WERE LIKE MY TIPPITY TOP PICKS. How will I ever get out of this book labyrinth? Answer: I won’t. I will continuously get lost until the end of time.

  2. I am currently very, very impatiently awaiting the delivery of my copy of The Hate U Give so I can finally read it… it feels like I have been waiting for AGES at this point.. I also have ACOWAR on my TBR and I am SO ready for that one to be released! ACOMAF had me furious by the end and I need to know what happens now! And of course A Conjuring Of Light. That one is pretty high on my list!

    1. Ahhhh I need to read ACOMAF so I can get legitimately excited for ACOWAR. I’m trying to put it off (ONLY A LITTLE BIT) so it’ll be fresh in my mind for when ACOWAR comes out. THUG is amazing, I was like sprinting to go buy it! It truly lives up to what everyone is saying. I WILL IMPATIENTLY WAIT WITH YOU FOR YOUR COPY

      1. PLEASE read ACOMAF as soon as possible! I was just reading through my reading updates on it while writing an upcoming post and I was THIS CLOSE to drop everything and pick up ACOMAF and start reading. But, responsibilities. I will probably re-read it in April to prepare myself for ACOWAR! I am more than ready for that re-read though! I miss all of those characters so much!

I am ready to fight amazon at this point, to tell you the truth! They keep telling my my copy is going to arive on day XY and then NOTHING. They haven’t even sent it out yet… But I’m really happy to hear that the book lives up to the hype! 😀

If it doesn’t come by the time I finish THUG, I’ll send ya mine. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ IT.

      3. I actually had it pre-ordered too, right. WEEKS before it was supposed to come out. Never came. I canceled that order and put in a new one. They told me it would arrive within 2-4 weeks – which okay. Sucks, but okay. And then I get an email like ‘You’re getting your book by the end of this week!’ and still nothing.. people must be so annoyed of me talking about this. xD
